Parkside Friends & Alumni Fund was established in 1994, since then it has been receiving regular covenanted donations from parents, friends and alumni with the intention of enhancing enrichment outside the classroom for all students at Parkside Community College. The Trustees would like to develop the charity further in order to be able to provide even more activities plus the equipment and resources that are required. 

Most recently approved bids have supported students by:

• Funding entry and materials for a rocket club competition
• Purchasing new equipment for the rowing club
• Enabling the purchase of a giraffe for our students to take part in the Cambridge Standing Tall project

Over the years, the charity has made substantial donations to Parkside for a range of of different projects including: 

• £4,000 (special appeal to Cambridge Colleges) donated for Gifted & Talented students 
• £5,000 donated for the redesign of the quad at Parkside to include an outdoor stage 
• £50,000 for development of the Mitchell Library 
• £3,000 towards coaching for Sports after school clubs 
• £3,000 towards equipment for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions
